Dedicated to preserving the beauty of our mountain home
About Apple Mountain

Apple Mountain is a 117 acre private home development in Spruce Pine, NC, built atop the Blue Ridge Parkway, Americas most visited national park. Various home sites include mountain views of Roan Mountain, Beech Mountain, Hawks Bill, Table Rock, and Mt. Mitchell, at 6, 684 feet - the highest peak east of the Mississippi.

We are a family operation started in 1973 by Robert and Mary Lou McMurrary and the tradition is being continued by his children Brian and Valerie Mcmurray. We are proud of our achievements to date and when you visit the area, we invite you to visit our mountain and enjoy the beautiful views of the Blue Ridge.

What We Offer

Apple Mountain sits astride the Eastern Continental Divide; rain that falls on the east side of our ridge flows to the Atlantic, rain that falls on the West Side to the Gulf. The climate of this mountainous area is truly delightful with temperatures generally running 10 or more degrees below those of nearby lower elevations. To preserve the natural beauty of each lot, telephone and electric services are underground. Water is supplied to each home from crystal clear mountain springs.

Road and water system maintenance is provided by Apple Mountain Property Owners Association, paid for by an annual assessment to each property owner. We have recently opened up additional home sites, some at higher elevations with even more spectacular views than those already developed.

Within a 5 to 10 minute drive is dining, golf, shopping, art galleries, schools, library, and churches. Nearby attractions include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Gem mining and NC Mineral Museum, Snow Skiing, The Parkway Playhouse; providing quality summer entertainment and the internationally famous Penland School of Crafts. Many other points of local interests are clear fishing streams, spectacular waterfalls, hiking, mountain lakes, limestone caverns and the Pisgah National Forest.
